Ole 4014 spent the night here in Salina, KS. Parked 50 yards from the office I work in. Fired up this morning and headed on West. Kind of a little foggy after the 3 of rain we got last night, but took a couple of close ups this morning anyway. Bob

They made it into town about 6pm last
night. Split the train in half so it could
set on the siding. Took about 2 hours to
get hooked up and ready to go. I would
guess they had the steam built up even
before that though. Talked to the Engineer
a little. He loves his job for sure.

Got to see it today. Met it at Gorham Kansas and followed it to Hays Kansas this afternoon. It's spending the night in Hays. Spent a lot of time walking up and down the track admiring the awesome size and beauty of this giant of a steam locomotive.

Took the grandson to see it in Hermann Mo. before it left for Kansas city. Talked to one of the train hands about water and fuel. No coal. Converted to #5 maritime oil, or cheaper recycled motor oil. Too easy. 1 million, 200 thousand pounds, but runs on 200 psi steam. Must go to the right places!
