What Its Like to Drive the Rimac Nevera EV, the Worlds Fastest-Accelerating Production Car?

With twice the power of a Formula 1 car, the ability to hit 60 mph in under two seconds and a $2.4 million sticker price.

I wonder what would it cost for a 2 second ride? Hope it would be cheap enough for me to ride the a rocket ship on wheels.
Rimac Nevera EV,

Thats a beautiful car, I dont think evs will have any more trouble becoming the mainstream than cars trucks and tractors did a little more than a century ago

Rimac Nevera EV,
think I'll go ahead and order 7 of them. One for each day of the week.

I was thinking of buying 2. I travel about 25 miles each way north and south daily,
I'll park one facing north and the other facing south. That way I won't have to turn
them around. I think I could shave a few minutes off my travel time going form 0-60 in
2 seconds. Be a fun drive too. Hope they have XM radio so I can listen to Willie
roadhouse.

So many times when someone gets a car like that they wreck it within the first month. Just more car than they have the ability to drive.

Anyone who can afford a $2.4M car , plus taxes, will have no problem paying for a funeral.

Don't know . But i can tell you this my 71 Duster 340 would set you back in the seat . Off the line she was faser then a 427 tri power Vet, she was faster then a Hemi Cuda , Road Runner or Charger for the first half of a quarter . 0 to 70 in 4 seconds and a 107 in 13.23-25 in the quarter just stuff it in drive and stand on it . If you had the stones and held it on the floor she would peg the speedometer at 150 +. That is how she came from the factory when i bought it . My factory parts and service rep talked me into this car at the time i was the parts manager of a large Chrysler Plymouth dealership and if you wanted performance parts for your Mo par this was the place to come because if the part was in the Hussel Stuff part catalogue it was on the shelf's , say you puked your 426 Street hemi Friday evening at the local drag strip , Not a problem just be in the door before noon Saturday morning with your check book and you can be out and on your way with a new full dressed drop in add oil and fuel and be back on the strip Saturday evening with a new hemi as i stocked 340's -383's 440's and hemi's . OR any part there of . Ya need a new lets go fast car just pick the color and do you want a four speed or a automatic. And do you want just a nice cruiser or do you want it full out strip ready with the big rad. and 3.91 gear or the 4.10 and if ya wanted deeper then hey it was a 45 min job to change it out to 4.30 or 4.56 with the speedo gear change . anyway Bob talked me into going up to the test center to drive this 71 340 , i ran it on the quarter then the big track full out . I bought that car , it came pre broke in with 837 miles on the clock and four almost bald E70x14 Goodyear Custom power Cushion Poly glass tires . God awful color Sassy grass green , blacked out hood with a huge 340 Wedge decal black body stripes running down the upper sides with 340 at the back and a black vinyl roof . It had buckets when i test drove it but the looked stupid with the column shifter and they swapped them out for a split back bench seat at the factory , the bench seat was more comfortable . With my dealer discount i gave out the door with tax 2400 and change for that car . Sticker was a little north of 3500 . She was sorta like a burger king whopper as it took two hands to handle it . She was fun to drive and was a great street racer , yea i did do some light to light . On the plus side she got fantastic gas mileage even hauling the mail while on trips she would pull down over 19 MPG and set some land speed records doing so . In my youth all my cars were fast . The Duster was the last car i personally owned and have not liked anything since as 1971 was the last year of the performance days . With the 72 model year good cars were turned into DOGS that sucked gas and did nothing .

Tractor vet.
I grew up with the muscle cars. Cops couldn't keep with some. GTX.

Those days are long gone. Can't buy them anymore.

I think some people are attracted to pickups because they are the closest thing to yesterdays muscle cars.

I'll venture a bet, actually I plan to buy stock, when fords ev truck goes public with $80 billion in stock.

I think the ford ev truck will blow the doors off yesterday's mussle cars.
Putting power to all 4 wheels gives you more traction and you can accelerate faster.

We will have to see if my hunch is true.

Be a different world at the dragstrips.

Quickest ride I ever had was a Tesla S with the Plaid drivetrain . That thing was 2 seconds faster in the quarter mile than my National. .

Goes for pretty much any car really unless I seen a John Deere car

A quick review of the well-documented quarter mile ET's of the revered muscle cars of 50 years ago reveals that most would be severely challenged in a drag race by any number of regular, nothing-special vehicles on the road today. Even just the mid-spec Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers are in the 12s these days with the most powerful versions running in the 11s. Even more humbling to the nostalgia surrounding muscle cars, a common bone-stock F-150 can dip into the 13s which would put it towards the top of the list of quick cars from 1970. Truth be told, the muscle car era isn't something in the past, it is happening right now.
