Tractor made to pull boats on beach

Im looking for a tractor made during Vietnam to pull boats on shore or beach . Saw one at a tractor show in Ill. today. It was equipped with three large tires was very low profile.

Many years ago I saw one on the Okla. side of Lake Texoma but there wasn't anything odd about it other than something like 14.9x 28
tires....appeared to be relatively fat for the size of the tractor....30-40 hp I'd guess. Don't remember the tread type. Soil up there is
sandy loam to clay and the boat wasn't over 20' for a number with no cabin....isn't like the soft sand you get on coastal beaches
here..once you get up and away from where its wet and packed. You looking for something to pull a larger boat? What's your soil
type?

Thinking more about it they had rails up to their lake house and may have had a gondola rolling on the rails that submerged, floating
the boat on top and pulling it out. I was busy fishing and didn't pay that much attention to details other than notice the uniqueness
of it and the length....something like 150' give or take.

FIL. lived next door to a guy (ex-farmer that sold out and bought a lake house and all the trimmings...always bragged that he made
his in real estate) that had a similar launch/retrieving setup. Steeper and only about 50' overall with a boathouse/workshop combo.
and an N Ford (left over from his farming days) on Lake Livingston. Doors opened on both ends and he just used a regular boat
trailer with the tires off, wheels intact for the rails, and the N pulled and pushed the trailer (with a ball on the drawbar) with the boat
winched onto it in, and out. He would back down to the water to launching depth and shut off the N, get in the boat and go fishing,
come back, drive the boat back on the trailer, start up the N and drive it into the boathouse.....pretty handy...course he thought he
was pretty handy...and being a retired farmer, he was. Grin

Its 1 AM and pee break wake up time so I am killing time waiting for the prostate to relax so I can do what you do and get back to
bed.

This is probably what you're talking
about. Very interesting machine. Even had a hydraulic drive to the front wheel. The
info sign with it claimed it was the only
one known in existence out of just a few
built.

Yes that is the tractor Im talking about. I happen to see it during the tractor parade yesterday at Rantoul. But could not find it afterwards to look at it closer and talk to the owner. Have tried to find it on Massys website but no luck. Thank you for more information about it.

Wow! What I saw didn't look like that. Go figure the economics of designing and going through the manufacturing and testing process of a few of them with no real customer base out there. Somebody with more money than sense's, pet project.

Very cool! I've always been curious about this tractor too. Have seen a few photos of it online. Anyone have any bigger, hi-res photos?

Well after reading the other postings that is more like it. Lots of proposals to defense acquisition questionnaires on equipment that they need for specific functions. Course the quantity and financial backup would be there if a decent contract was won. Case in point are aircraft that were built that never flew, or just one ever flew, or order was cancelled for some reason before any quantity were built.

Thank you Brendon for the photo of the description and the model number. As a Air Force vet stationed at Charleston Sc during Vietnam I never saw one of these shipped by air so the Navy must have transported. My first look at it was during the tractor parade at Rantoul Ill. this past weekend but was unable to find it afterwards.
