In the Shenandoah we have, by my reckoning:

Dead winter.
Mud.
More mud-can't dig or plant yet.
Brief spring.
Good Lord its ugly hot and humid.
Finally cool but no daylight.

Two. 11 months of Winter and one month of tough sledding.

Actually, it's been miserable hot and humid for the last month/six weeks. I know you Southern fellers would laugh at it, but there's a REASON I live in Maine and this weather ain't it!

Finally broke today. Still in the low 80's, but the humidity blew out and there's a nice breeze.

Following your comment about southerners......I never figued out how you folks up there could put up with all that winter has to offer and have to endure hot summers too. Sometimes it's hotter there than it is here in and around Dallas. Thanks but no thanks.
