Would any of you do this?

He got to the point where I wondered how he would slide the tractor forward. There must be a winch attached to the block under the loader bucket pulling it ahead.

Last year they did some work on the track my land backs up against. I watched a guy do that without the winch and in about 1/2 the time.

The brother of my old boss used to do that with his 3414 International backhoe. It fit right in the back of his dump truck. The first time I saw him do it,I was just a kid riding by the International dealership on my bicycle. It was brand new at the time.Pretty impressive to a 12 year old kid.I never dreamed that 15 years later I would be working for his brother in the same business, but not doing things like that.I have unloaded them off of step decks that way,but the trailer was only 32 inches high.

I've both loaded and unloaded backhoes that way with the deck at 42 inches. I've also loaded and unloaded excavators in the same manner. One time I had to unload a backhoe off the side of my trailer with other equipment on behind it. with a bank of dirt bedis the hoe just set the rearend over then pulled it back till the front was about to come off set the front bucket tight on the floor and pulled it back till the wheels were on dirt then backed it up the rest of the way. I've had to load and unload some crazy stuff in crazy ways. Some people would not want to watch even from a distance.

the guy doing the video is shaking so much it is hard to watch. lucky the operator has it under control.

No, but they are regulated by the FRA, federal railroad Adminstration.
They can be just as bad or worse.

He dumped the dirt up next to the road where he came out at. It wasn't shown in the video but I imagine they brought in a dump truck to load it into.
