Old Engine

Can anyone comment on this engine? It has International on the brass plate.
It looks pretty impressive compared to the LB's that I was used to. I note that they
have balance weights on the inside of the flywheel rims. Everyone else seemed like they
drilled metal out to balance them. Looks like it could be 6-8 HP.

It's an IH "Type M" engine.

The "lumps" on the flywheels are to counterbalance the crankshaft "throw".

Most, if not all "open flywheel engines" have them in one form or another.

looks like the 6 h.p. type M engine. the tag on top will say what it is. that fuel tank is home made. the tank fits under the crankcase. there should be an oiler that fits on the top . the oil drips at about 3 drops per minute to lube the piston. plus the crankshaft has grease cups you just give the cup a 1/2 turn every so often.
