The guy cutting the Walnut on my place had skidder problems yesterday,so he brought in a Kubota with a winch on the back and hauled off the skidder.Think I better get the Long/Landini warmed up considering where he has to go to get some trees today.

What size timber is coming down? I'd really like to see some pics of the job. When I timbered some of my place 3 years ago we used horses. Once up to the road we could usebthe skidsteer to load. Mone was mostly poplar and oak depending on the market at the time.

I'm surprised they are cutting walnut in the heat of the summer. Most folks wait till winter to cut that wood.

Not huge but pretty good size, Walnut is what this guy cuts.It all went pretty good all the trees are in pasture fields pretty wide open but some steep pulls.Walnut price are good right now.The larger logging will take place a little later getting bids right now from saw mills, trees to be cut have been measured and marked with red paint up over 500,000 bd ft.I have some huge Poplars pretty close to the house so glad to get rid of them as well as many on the South and West side will clear out my view to the Blue Ridge mountains from the house.Logging up on the mountain should be interesting to watch.
