Couple pics from combining

Even though we only had 15 acres of barley in it still didnt come without a few challenges lol. The auger and combine havent been used in 3 years now till last week. I did let the combine run in the yard the last 2 summers for an hour or so in gear to keep the bearing from starting to seize up. I was on my last round earlier this week and the smoke started to bellow from around the engine. Turns out a nut backed off a bolt that holds the tensioning idler for the main belt off the back of the engine to the separator pulley and it chewed it up. We were able to get a new belt and replaced it and finished then shedded the old girl afterwards. My Dads been gone almost 10 years and running that old 550 Massey was his favourite job on our farm. It brought back lots of fond memories getting to use it again.
The old grain auger had a seized bearing and needed a little tlc but it ran good afterwards as well. Was able to get the straw baled ,will have another 40 ac to bale for ourselves then possibly 500 bales to do for my cousin next door. We used to put up 1300 round bales of straw now 360 will do. We still have a good stockpile ahead to last another year with the new bales. Im finally booked in for ear surgery Wednesday hoping Ill be able to hear from both ears snd not just 1 1/2, Ive warned my wife that it may not improve my listening skills though! It seemed like a good enough excuse to freshen up the old dump truck while I was at it and I included a few repeat pictures from planting this spring.

I am interested in the ear surgery, what can they do to a ear when it goes out ? I have one side that is almost like nothing.

They say I have conductive hearing loss meaning the inner ear is functioning fine but the bone that connects it with the outer ear has deteriorated. They are going to attempt to replace the bone with the hopes Ill regain normal hearing on that side.

jm,
I have floating crystals, Cicadas, in inner ear, constant ringing. Dr said nothing can be done. Also cause vertigo if I move my head fast.
Cicadas are so loud it makes it hard to separate a voice from background noise.

had that done over 30 years ago . Out patient surgery, they replaced the bone with a wire and my hearing was instantly much better , though not perfect. You will be amazed, although it did not affect selective hearing in dealing with the wife, LOL .

Thatd be terrible,I had pulsitile tennitis (spelling?) a few years ago and it near drove me bonkers.
