Best reason not to have shade trees next to a buildings. They are accidents waiting to happen.

This tree was far away from building

There was a second tree that did the splits in another yard. .

Didn't realize we had that much wind last night.

None of my trees are close enough to do any damage.

Hey George. Depending on your or their insurance deductible, might be able to claim that tree as total loss. Wingnut

Tuesday we took the 75 mile trip toward Chicago to see the grand boys, all kinds of storm warnings/watches but we went anyway. About forty miles from home on the way back we got into the worst rain and wind I can remember driving in, car was bobbing around like a butter fly. About ten miles from home there was a tree across the road and I had to back track about ten miles to get around it. At least we had power when we got home, a lot of people didn't, a woman got flattened by a tree on a trailer roof in Rockford. Trees down all over according to the news.

Insurance doesn't pay for trees or tree removal . They will pay for removal if it lands on house.
I paid $1500 to have 4 trees removed, all were next to 4 different buildings.
If each building was damaged, that's $1500 deductible per house. $6K out of my pocket.
