Should a JD 350 brake drum be flat all the way across? I have one that looks worn but im not sure if it is still usable or not. I would like to order parts soon and Id like to get everything in one go.

Drums on my 450 were worn like that. I
took them off, made a makeshift lathe out
of 6x6s on a couple sawhorses(shaft oiled
in holes in hardwood 6x6s) and smoothed
them with sanding discs on 7grinder.
Been working okay for many years.

Thats good to hear. I work at a big powder metal company and have access to big lathes. Might just have them skim the top layer of where it rides so its fresh and call it a day. More money to put towards bearings

If you figure out how much undersize the drums are after trueing up, you may be able to get thicker linings to make up for what was removed from the drums.
