Anybody have any information on these tractors . A friend has one and his front axle only drives in forwards Says the Belarus dealer said thats how they work is it true ?

Partially true. There are two positions on the control. The first notch is auto mfwd. It auto engages in forward only. Does not pull in reverse, also does not bind up when turning on a hard surface. The second notch is full time mfwd. The linkage does need to be adjusted correctly for it all to work right.

There is also a slip clutch in the driveline for the front axle. It can be over tightened enough to break the bevel gears in the front axle.

At one point we had a 5170 (I think), the Canadian version of the 825.

I wondered if there was more to the story kinda like the worst tractor posts weve been seeing lately . Barney even had to start a new division

Very good response. Exactly how it works. There is a torque spec for the slip clutch adjustment.
