On Saturday I and a friend attended the Goessel,Kansas show...We left my place a little before 6 AM and made it the 210 miles out there by 9:20 AM just in time for the
parade down Main Street...It was a nice warm day with a temp around 97-98 degrees with a strong south wind at times...It was pretty dry out there and late in the day
they got a nice 1.5 rain....Its a real nice show and is well worth the drive...The Mennonite ladies sure have some nice cobblers served with ice cream.

The Boyle bothers live 10 miles east of me and for the past 8-9 years they have taken a tractor 220 miles to the show....This pic is from the parade and we are at the
very east end of town...Theres a milo field across the road and theres a large crowd to my right stretching for almost a mile.

A nice 1957 Ford in the parade...About 30 years ago I owned an identical one.

Jerry Toews 30-60E Oil Pull on the 8 bottom gang plow..It was pretty dry in that field.

The owner showed how to hook and unhook the trailer (has no dollies) with the AC crawler on board.

I'll be back with 10 more pictures.

Thanks for all the great pictures. Did you see the SMD pull, or was it there just for show?

Great pictures, was also at the show. Drove about 100 miles, the trip is always worth. Its a very good show. Tip of the hat to the organizers, they put on a very good show with lots of demonstrations of how farming was done in the past.

I made a mistake on picture 2 in this series......Its Foos 20 HP engine mounted on a Morton tractor frame...

thanks for the outstanding pictures, Blaine. Never have seen the combine surrounding the Fordson before. Wonder how many were sold and how well it worked?

As a kid in Oklahoma seen several dozers hauled on floats like that. Move to the rear, unlatch 5th wheel pull forward let out winch line. Float had inverted 5th wheel, then back truck up and coast off to start.

This one is a very early Gleaner that is or was usually on display at the nearby AGCO Hesston facility.

Thanks 1206--It is hard to pick a favorite but the 57 Fairlane and the 55 Deere combine are right up there. I have never seen a combine mounted on a Fordson--Can't imagine running that all day in 95 degree dust--Men were men!!!---Tee

Bill, theres probably 20-30 Fordson-Gleaner combines still around yet....They are quite rare...I was to a sale near Concordia,KS in 2014 where one sold..Heres a picture of it...I'll bet they were great in mud..

Tee,heres an identical 1957 Ford that I owned about 30-35 years ago..Yeah,I'll bet running that Gleaner-Fordson combine would have been a blast on a 95-105 degree day in a July Kansas wheat harvest...It would have been close to 120 degrees in the middle of all of that..That idea didnt go over well.

I knew you were at the show as I visited with one of your friend that you traveled with, I told him I was looking forward to meeting you maybe next year, You have some nice pictures of my Fowler crawler and Field Marshall also of my scale Case steam engine. It is a working model. I just did not have time to fire it this year to much other going on.

Thank you for all your good pictures of the show and kind words.

Jim

The steam engine down the thread a bit with the boiler up high and the engine and flywheel down below, did that come out of midwest Nebraska? There was one like it about 4 miles from the farm I grew up on. Unusuall steamer, wondering if it is the same one?

Thanks for posting all these pictures of our show - we're glad you could attend and that you had a good time. Thank you for being an excellent ambassador! I chatted with your neighbors Friday evening but (again!) I missed getting to meet you. Maybe next time. Like you said, it was quite hot and breezy on Saturday (welcome to Kansas in August!) but we had a good turnout and things went pretty well.

The dry ground you mentioned with the plowing was cured Saturday night with about 1.5 of rain. It shut down the plowing for Sunday but those of us involved with farming aren't complaining at all since the fall crops were desperately needing a drink and the rain was an answer to prayer.

NICE Ford--My oldest brother also had one years ago. I have 4 vehicles on my want bucket list--69 roadrunner--63 1/2 Galaxie 500--66 Fairlane GT--pre 48 Ford pickup--We all have dreams--THANKS again for your pics--You go to some GOOD places!!!---Tee

I'm sorry that I missed you and Jim..You guys sure have a great show...We got .10 out of that line of storms that came thru my area early Sunday morning..We could sure use 1.5 inches as the last good rain was July 15th.
