Decisions, decisions.....!

10th annual tractor drive is this coming Saturday, August 14 starting at nine. Might get more than the 60 we had last year. Ends up with a hearty breakfast at Mary's Restaurant in the West end of Lucknow. But.....which tractor to take? The Massey is in her work clothes and definitely more user friendly than the Deere. The Deere is all painted up and gets more attention.....wife cares for neither, she will drive the Nova. Leaning towards the Massey.....but the Deere runs nice through town...got a Massey hat, but no Deere apparel...hmmmmm.....

Got that same setup,44 special and a big beam 3/14.I used my 44 row crop for tractor for tractor rides,It keeps up with 530 deere ,I don't know fast a 630 runs down the road

Id be happy sitting on or in any of the three. But Id be willing to bet there wont be nearly as many Masseys in the line as there will be JD

I will just ask a question. wich one stears the best at road speeds? In other words does either one have a wabble in front end at road speeds? Some are more prone to the wabble than others. I am familuar with deere but know nothing about the Massey. The row crop narroy front Deeres did not have that wabble but the wide front AR did and had trouble on roads. My Ford 5000 had it so bad, could find nothing wrong but could not take a wagon to elevator with it, no problem with the 4000 Fords. So does one drive better than the other? Then brakes witch one has best brakes?

More people will be pleased to see the unusual Massey than the common Deere. Get a Deere hat and take the Massey!

The guy ahead of you and the guy behind you would appreciate listening to the Massey rather than old thumper.

MH more user friendly, really? That is a super nice 530, but the choice is yours to make. I'm not a brand guy, I like most any old tractor......I'd be setting on the 530!

I love the sound of a JD pulling a plow in tough ground.
On a road trip, it will just be putt putting along.
I really like a MH tractor and used a 101 SR for years on my sawmill.
I would take the MH 44 and let people see what a good old tractor looks like in it's work clothes.
And this is a true JD man talking.

Have one of each, I found the older set like the work clothes, the younger gen likes shiny. Nice tractors!

There's a bit of stop and go as we drive by several retirement homes in town, and I find the Massey easier to shift on the roll....I can with the 630, but not as smoothly or as consistently....but I have thousands of hours on a Massey, less so on a Deere.

I would go with which ever one you find more enjoyable/comfortable to run. Sounds like fun, I hope you have a good time. If this is an annual event you could alternate tractors each year, They both look very nice to me.

Some of those V dubs are really snappy these days. This from a guy that owns to Mercs.
