Got the wobble box back in the 489 haybine, it seems to be making a knocking noise cant tell if its from the
rolls or what, but it works Ill try mowing with it and see what happens thinking about sending this thing down
the road now,

Think I have passed both of you. 1 tractor down, 2 mowers and 1 baler. Not to mention hay yields are 40 - 60% of where they should be. Can you say poor season?

If you grab the arm and try to move it side to side is there any movement? If so, that box is worn and on it's way out.

I seem to vaguely recall that when I was shoppingfor my 488 haybine, it was said that an advantage that a 488 had over a 489 was that if the wobble box went, the 488's was repairable or rebuildable, and the 489's was not.

Thats just what I was thinking and it applies to 489 models as well. When I bought my 489 it had that knock and it didnt take long for it to fail completely.

Well Im still cutting 1/2 ton the acre grass hoping I have enough hay for winter . So far everything is running
