I drilled grass in this field last fall and fertilized in late winter and the first cutting of hay was all grass. The lespedeza took over again this summer. I bush hogged it and was thinking of spraying it with pasture pro in a few weeks. Any experience with getting rid of this weed l would live to hear some pointers

I have had the best luck spraying with pasturegard, but here it would be to late in the season to spray successfully. Spraying seems to keep it back for about 3 years. I don't know how spraying would work after bushshogging. I would keep it cut this year and try to spray it next year. Or just keep it and cut it for hay?
 
Green! What's that, our pasture and lawn are all brown. I have used grazon with good success, ask your local coop what works good in your area. Please pass on any extra rain. Jim
 
Sericea lespedeza
From custom spraying experience,
use Remedy only with a good adjuvant, don't skimp on water.
we have used lots of that, when used correctly, you can spray part of the field
and in a few days, come back and see where you skipped and pick that part up to finish.

when it is small and young, it can be knocked over with Basagran, (also works on nutsedge (watergrass),
don't ask how i know!
 
I use PatureGard as well. Spray it in early to mid-July here in Kansas. I don't have a lot so I only spot spray and therefore it is never 100% gone. I think it is easier to hit if you have mowed in late June and then it grows above the grass some by mid-July. I'm not sure that fits your haying schedule though. Never let it flower.

I have also been told that goats will prefer it over the grass. Containing goats sounds like more work than spraying to me.
 
I thought lespedeza was a hay crop grass but it is something I am not familuar with here in Ohio.
