If that is home made, they did a nice job of finishing it off, for the time. I bet it was loud.

It looks like a GMC 305 built in the early 60's. The GM Toro-flow diesel had the intake on the outside the head between the exhaust ports.

Those gas V6 engines could be several sizes from 305 up to 477. They were an extremely tough, torquey motor.

Did not know that about the diesel version. I know that it was almost universally disliked! Back to the tractor. If that's a 401 or 478 and it's geared right it would be quite the pulling machine! (Although you would need to stay kinda close to the fuel tank.
