Each little white flower will turn into a sticky burr that will stick to your clothes and your animal's fur. They are small and difficult to remove. If you only have a few they usually pull fairly easy, but do so while they are still flowers, 2,4-D will kill them, but the leaves are so small they are hard to spray effectively. The flowers remind you of queen annes lace, but only 5 flowers to a stalk.

One of the Gallium species, commonly called the bedstraws. Can't tell which specific species, but they tend to be shallow rooted and easily pulled. Member of the coffee family and my book says seeds used to be roasted and ground for coffee. We had sweet scented bedstraw common in damp areas in southern Minnesota, and it appears the same species can be found out here in N. Idaho. Steve
