I'm debating about trying to organize some games to do,in the idea of getting the youth participating in the show.what kinds of games do your shows do ?
Is there any video of them on youtube or a clubs facebook page ?
These would be done during the day,and hopefully take a few hours of time

I have seen a kind of tractor teeter totter where you have to balance the tractor.

Another idea would be to rig up a dummy tractor that kids can sit on and pretend drive. Make sure the steering wheel rotates all the way around and it has lots of levers that move freely so they can let the imagination run wild. Of course it would be a non-functional tractor so it is safe.

A blindfold race is fun--driver is blindfolded and drives through an obstacle course while being given directions by a co-pilot.

Another idea is backing a 4 wheeled wagon into a given space.

Besides the ones already mentioned, other games played while driving a tractor include a reverse race either (fast or slow), slow forward race, a circle the barrel race, ring toss, balloon pop, cone race (at least at my club's tractor show).

We did tractors and garden tractors both. Hula hoops over traffic cones, tennis balls in 5 gallon buckets for the big tractors, golf balls in ice cream pails for the garden tractors, golf balls on a spoon. We do the blind fold thing where you have to stay between the cones, but stop before you get to the end of the course with nobody telling you what to do.

We did that one year. Pull a wagon through an traffic cone obstacle course then back into a coned slot.
It was a timed and accuracy event. With a borrowed 8N and a wagon unfamiliar to me, I won.
Other games:
1. dixie cup of water sitting flat on a paint stick. Driver must hold it and drive too.
2. slow race.
3. We played tractor baseball, first gear only and not allowed to use reverse. The batter/fielder was
on the hitch. Numerous other rules for safety and fun.

Forgot, water balloon toss. Two tractors and drivers as teams. Teammates face each other with tractors
nose to nose. First round, one driver tosses the water balloon to teammate. 2nd round, one tractor of
each team backs up 5 feet, toss the balloon back to teammate. 3rd round, one tractor of each team backs
up 5 feet, toss the balloon to teammate. 4th round, etc etc. Last team without a broken balloon wins.

I would be more inclined to do skill tests than speed, and only one tractor at a time competing.

You never know the skill level of the person driving or just how bad they want to win!

Backing a 4 wheel wagon is a good one.

Back out, turn around, back into the same spot and touch a 2x4 standing on end without knocking it over! This is especially fun with the old Rumleys or steam power.

Only thing I would say about tractors and barrels. I was at a show once and a tractors rear axle stub caught the barrel just right, turning the barrel up and almost overturning the tractor. Think safety for all.

Put an egg on a stand, tractor backs up, touches egg, but does not
push it off. You need an adjustable stand to set for each tractor.
Line up a row of 5 gal buckets, 15-20(or what ever) feet apart.
Drive by with your tractor and drop a tennis ball in the bucket.
Use tennis balls, as they tend to bounce out.
If it bounces out they have to stop, back up, pick up the ball and try
again....timed event.

At one time I saw an ad in the Farm Show Magazine of a booklet you could buy with
a whole bunch of tractor games.

At our show, I do a chain drag contest, I paint a 2 ft. square on the ground, pile up a 20 chain in the box, chain gets hooked to drawbar, operator pulls the chain completely out of the box, then by going reverse and forward, pile the chain up in the box, timed event and penalties if any chain links are touching or out of the box.

About everything mentioned is good for the adults but a nono go for the youth as some shows the insurance will not allow a youth being the driver of the tractor.

Friday at Junkshow is school day. We have and some teachers have separate scavenger hunts for the kids. The questions require the kids to ask questions at the exhibit to get the correct answers.

Ya, I forgot, we did that one too, along with corn hole. Set up 4 corn hole boards, two on a side. Get 4 bags, drive down one side and toss two, turn around, comeback and toss the other 2. Scored event, not timed.
