I apologize in advance if this isnt the place to
Ask , but I sure would appreciate some
Guidance , I got a John Deere 5075e with an e12 flex wing
cutter . My problem
Is when I cut, the center deck to the right of it will leave a strip
of gras not cut properly . The wings towards the hinges leave
clumps or doesnt cut good either , Ive tried to level this thing
in every way but its just not working .

Are you using the economy PTO or Regular PTO? Is PTO turning 540 RPM reduce your ground speed use regular PTO

Regular 540 pto. Im
Usually on 2nd gear with another flex wing cutter , and its always cut fine , but this one I cannot figure out at all

Is it set so the front of the blade travel is a fraction of an inch LOWER than the back of the blade travel?

I have seen them do that when tractor ground speed was too fast and pto speed to slow...I have a guy who lives down the road who will not run PTO at 540 when he uses rotary mower it looks terrible.

are you sure you have the correct length blades on it? When it is down there should be about 5-6 inches of overlap with the blades on the center and outside sections.

My guess is that you're ground speed is too fast and/or your making the first cut too short, too much debris on top. Experiment with the height, pto and ground speed variables.

Are there clutches on the individual gear box input shafts? Could one (or two) be slipping? Ought to be able to tell by feeling them for heat (or better yet, use an IR gun)

Another indication of slipping is if the missed material gets progressively worse, as the grass gets tougher/taller, and the tractor does not seem to be lugging down much.

Please keep us posted on what you find.

Is this a new BW?

If so, check rotation of spindles.

I bought a new Woods BW 15.50 about 2 years ago and it was delivered with the wrong gearbox on the right side spindle resulting in the right spindle side turning in the wrong direction.

Cut quality was poor and clumping was awful on right side.

Inspection revealed obvious cause as right side blades still had paint on sharp side but no paint on back side after mowing about 3 acres.

Woods swapped gearboxes under warranty.
