Butcher Holler

Today we took the day off and drove down to Paintsville, Ky to Butcher Holler, the birthplace of Loretta Lynn and Chrystal Gale. Stopped at Webb's Grocery then went up the holler to the house for a tour. Very interesting and totally enjoyable as they have both been favorite singers of ours. Then went up US 119 to South Charleston, WV. to Cabela's. Daughter and grand daughter had never been there either so the entire day was a super day for all of us. Tomorrow it's back to the hay field to mow, playtime is over.

The Cabela's in Mitchell is a ghost store. No clerks, you check out at the ONE register open in Customer Service. 90% of the used guns are gone. Very little ammunition. I don'e see good things happening there.

That is pretty much typical of the entire industry. Ammo is rare as hens teeth, and NEW firearms are in very short supply, which means that USED guns sell very quickly.

Our Rural King actually had a good pickup load of various ammo in stock last week.

First time more than and arm load in a year.
Still zero in stock at RKguns online.

Probably more than 30 years ago had front row seats to see Loretta in Denver. Great show. I think the tickets were around $10. Saw Crystal a few years latter but not in the front row. She was excellent too.
