It works.
$20 for bearings.
It wouldn't have been possible without a
20 ton press which paid for itself the
first time I rebuilt the hydraulic pump
on Jubilee.
My hobby is collecting tools and fixing
things.
My late wife got me a Tshirt,. Fix It
This mower is just

The trim mower. Farmall c does the most
mowing.

How many mow their lawns with American
Iron?
The BOSS would be a very unhappy camper
with out her American Iron, 72 inch mower.

Happy trails

Glad your repair went well. I have a JD GT262 which is the manual transmission version of your GT 275. They are excellent tractors. Mine is on semi-retirement as I also have a JD X320 which is a hydro transmission. I guess they would be considered American iron (with Kawasaki engines!)

I replace bearing when I can.

Kenmore washer front load, I replaced the bearings. But ordered the cheap bearings from Amazon so I could get the size before tearing down the washer. Then ordered Timkens (didn't want to do it twice) from Amazon sent the cheapies back.

The Harbor Freight 20 ton press I've had maybe 15 years. Couldn't do without it.

BTW...did you see RK's gonna have their synthetic oil for $9.95/jug starting Sunday? Be $9.49 with the card. No rainchecks...get yours early.

Four of my garden tractors came from South Bend In., right up the road from you.

My Super C has some slack in the right axle that is under evaluation, you want to part out your C.

I remember setting up alot of the gt 275 when they came out around 1995. The dealership sold over a 100 mowers that year and since it was so wet that spring I got to set alot of them up instead of being on the road fixing tractors and planters.

Knox, In is about 45 miles south and west of South Bend. That is where I grew up on dairy farm. I made many trips to South Bend to pick up parts. Studebaker was made in South Bend.
As for selling my Farmall C, it was my mom's. After I'm gone, it will remain in my family. It's my favorite tractor.

It's used to mow, pull a 10k dump tailer, and push snow in winter. She's still a working girl.

The engine was rebuilt. Sweet tractor. Does a great job mowing too.

Glad you got it fixed George. I got a HF20 ton press a few years back. Great tool! No more trying to set Alligator Lacings in a vise! I saw a video of one guy that took the hand pump off his and replaced it with a 20 ton HF air driven pump. About $80.00 to change it over IIRC, but it sure looked like a handy improvement.

Glad everything worked out. I have a 1996 LX176 tad older then your GT275 but has same hood. I purchased it with a blown engine (piston through crankcase) repowered it with the same engine from a different tractor. 13 years strong, still running. Aside from mowing duty, use it to move things around (branches, wifes decorations) it did some snow scraping this winter.
