My te-20 Fergie

A couple questions

The spring (a metal loop) for my Fergie is moving around because one
of the pins snapped off below the surface. Actually the front pin. And the
rear pin is loose. So a I called a buddy to come put a couple tack welds
to lock it in place. Well. Let me tell you, Fergie was having nothing to
do with the welder. The welder would not weld properly (the machine)
not my friends technique.

I found a piece of black gas pipe. He could throw beads on it all day
long. But only if the pipe wasnt touching the tractor. If the pipe was
touching Fergie it wouldnt work.

I have a mid western bucket attached which is completely made of
welded steel. He couldnt get a bead.

Either my tractor is possessed. Or Im an idiot. We completely
disconnected the battery

I just want to fix my seat.

I'd remove the seat spring, then weld nuts to the broken seat spring studs in the cast iron lift cover. After the nuts cool you should be able to remove the two broken 7/16 inch NC studs, then replace with two new bolts.

I can weld, but am not a trained welder. But I have seen some metal that is hardened that won't weld, with normal rods, like 6013. Mark.
