Though on smaller plots, it reminds me of the times I have enjoyed making neat swaths. just watching the stems fall back over the bar, and smelling the sweet aroma is only to be experienced, not described. Jim

I really love running that mower its quiet and smooth and simple I can drive as fast as the ground will let me . theres old cow trails that are deep enough to make the breakaway trip . I didnt even put a new knife just ran it . Ive got to hard surface my inside skid shoe I have do replace it every fifty acres or so

Can you adjust the bar angle down a bit to balance the weight between the two and take a little wear off the close shoe? Jim

I can tilt it but it runs level left to to right . I should say it wears out both inner and outer shoes every 50 or 60 acres . Last time I was in town I got new inner and outer shoes a couple sets of each

Are those bolt on, or rivited?

I dont know if these are the same but I have a ton of them, I could send you I dont have a use for that many of them this is only part of them I have a bunch more,

There are 3 different shapes the aftermarket companies call them shapes John Deere and ford are the same Hesston and new holland are the same and Macdon has its own hole spacing as well and theres one for versatile . I bought enough sections at Bomgaars closeout sale to last me just about the rest of my life .

The inside sometimes takes a little more wear when I mow ditches because it rides on the pavement. Dad killed the grass on the ditches so Now weeds grow instead of the grass so I just leave it alone no more ditch mowing

Just wondering if you have the balance springs adjusted to where inner and outer shoes are floating lightly? Just so bar doesn't bounce.

Hope you have a light winter. I think I get more hay than that off my lawn. Doesnt look very heavy at all. The weather is sure a ruthless adversary.

Well the hay is cut but my truck broke down and I have no way to get to it to get it baled so we wont know whats there and what isnt . Dry farm in this country usually goes around 1 ton to the acre this will probably be a little less Just been poor growing conditions too cold and dry then too hot and dry and wind blowing every day
