To bad about the drone.

We always had hay racks on the back of the wagons, I am sure I would have lost a lot of hay on our fields if I had to stack without a rack.

I'm glad he's OK. I was feeling a littler nervous watching him reach inside the baler like that while the tractor was still running, and PTO shaft connected.

that is for damm sure ! shut that tractor off. never know when something can go wrong and then you be baled! our neighbour here baled himself about 40 years ago... not pretty. that was stupid to reach in there with tractor running.

I ran a drone through a combine a few years ago... the neighbor had crashed it in the field, and couldn't find it. I didn't see it til it was too late.

Gotta find something to complain about.

Why not complain about them standing on the deck of the wagon while the tractor is in motion? They could lose their balance and fall off after all.

marlow, could you estimate how many? Must be a regional thing.

did not think it was complaining just good that people can see the dangers. standing on a moving wagon is something every farmer does. and on
the jerk you fall to the rear not front. also on the old pull behind stookers. never heard of anyone getting killed either.

i dont think they are too experienced in baling. i use the tractor to move the hitch from transport to field position. they dont need to be tugging and yanking on it like that. plus its easier to shut off the tractor than disconnect the pto. just the facts of life. and if you thinking that because the tractor is hot, well its dont get that hot baling. and a few minutes down dont matter. your the engineer.

Drone must have lost power. The guy operating it was too good with it to be his fault. I wish people were that good making hand held U-tube videos. They bounce around with the camera enough to make you dizzy. I do believe they should have shut the tractor off before the guy crawled into the baler.

I take it you've never had a hard starting tractor. Sometimes once you get 'em running, you leave 'em running until you're done for the day. That's a pretty nice looking Massey but that doesn't preclude it from having a bad battery.

Besides, a baler PTO is hardly difficult to connect and disconnect. There's rarely if ever any pressure on the driveline and the one-way clutch makes it a cinch to connect.

I agree but maybe the Massey wont start again? A couple blocks of wood sure making moving the tongue easy on one that doesnt want to move . I had a new holland that that had a brake on the right hand wheel when you unlatched the pin the brake was applied to help fold the tongue in and out

"Fault"????

More likely a "stunt" to drive up the hit counter on his monetized
'Tube "channel".

Look at 8:07. The PTO is CLEARLY DISCONNECTED!

Barnyard: Thank you. You clearly have sharper eyes than I. I re-watched, and the disconnected PTO shaft is only visible for less than 2 seconds.

SV: Thanks for the zoomed-in detail of the tractor & PTO shaft. My eyes were on the man, waste-deep in the "mouth" of the baler. PTO shaft disconnected was probably about as safe as it could be made.

If you expect the worst and you're disappointed, it's a good thing.

You can catch glimpses of it several times throughout the video.

Barnyard. Thanks. I skipped ahead to the drone-eating part, saw him lean inside the baler like that, and shut it down. Considering that I didn't see it the first time, I likely wouldn't have caught the other glimpses, either.

Guy not too far from where I used to live got his 6-year old son sucked through a wood chipper. This shook the whole community, understandably so. So I am maybe over-cautious on this stuff.
