Going to knock it down this week. This is the organic oats I do for neighbor. Because of the hot dry season it is real short. I don't think the yield will be much. I hope I am surprised. These pictures were taken a week ago.

Mine is getting close to looking like that. Should get to working on the combine, wont be too much longer to swathing it.

I planted a little bit of barley, it is very short but looks good. Not the biggest heads but then I didnt get extra fert on it, so if the yield isnt top notch it didnt cost much either. Got too dry and it matured very fast to get the fert on......

Best looking crop I have, the oats. Will depend on test weight I guess. Beans look terrible, corn is good but very dry or looking tough and very dry. Looks like the first rain is going well south of me.

It was dry enough this spring to get mine in early. Been awful wet lately, but they're turning. Yours look good and clean.

Assuming that organic means no chemical spray for weeds, how does the field stay so weed free? I'm out of the loop on organic farming and all that's involved.

It is oats straw and yes it will be round baled and sold. I don't do any of the marketing. Just do the farming operations. This is South central Mn. and they are sending trucks down from St. cloud to get the organic straw. I'm told it is going to an organic dairy farm.
