1977 Case 450 Dozer

I have a case dozer 1977 model cant find any timing mark on flywheel to be sure of TDC for the replacement of my injector pump after having it rebuilt any suggestion besides thaking the head off to be 100% sure any advice will be helpfull Thanks Much

You didn't time it BEFORE you pulled the pump??The marks may be on the front pulley. Or if it's like a friends ford. There are noo marks. You pull #1 injector
and use a dial indicator.Pull the valve cover and watch the valves at #1 cylinder. That will get you pretty close.

You should have a book. It would give step by step instructions on timing. Plus the degrees it should be timed at.And any other important informtion. If you had a book, and read it,you would not be in the predicament you are in now. Good luck.

Turn the pump inside drive slot so the dot aligns with the shaft end dot, that will get you close. Then install pump and turn engine by hand until the two pump marks align under the two
screw side cover. Look on the valve cover, some Case engines had the valve and timing spec on a cover decal. If I recall, NONE were set at TDC, more like 6 degrees BTDC..
