Injector pump timing A C 7030

Was viewing Allis Chalmers site on line, and theyre
saying if the pump is advanced 5* , then set at
24deg. on the motor. Or 10* set at 16* on the motor.
I dont understand any of this. I have been setting according to the book, which they say set to x on the balancer with the marks on the cam ring lined up. Would appreciate
some translation. Thanks Fritz
 
Injection pump with five degrees INTERNAL PUMP advance are to be set with marks aligned at 24 BTDC on engine. Pumps with ten degrees INTERNAL PUMP advance are to be set at 16 BTDC. the AC 7030, 7040, 7050, 7060, and 7080 did not all have the same pump internal advance piston. If the complete pump DM number is posted I can look at what advance pump has.
