Hydraulic fittings

I dont know alot about various hydraulic fittings. I have these fittings and they leak a little, not too bad, but I'd like them to not leak. So, do folks replace the whole fitting? Can you rebuild them with new orings and what not? Are there many varieties of quick disconnect fittings? These say pioneer on them.

Probably all the problems are on the female side, if the male side didnt get damaged.

(Yea you can make your own joke here.)

O rings might fix it, hard to find quality o rings of the exact size in this world of cheap stuff and sale and metric mixed up stuff.

So just buying one off the fleet and farm store wall ends up easier.

That is not the universal Pioneer style. I assume from the green paint it is the JD style, but Im not sure. There is a number stamped in somewhere, use that to look it
up.

Converting everything to universal Pioneer has its advantages, but spendy to convert tractor and several implements if you are already using that style.

Is the make and model number stamped on the female couple body, with that info it should be possible to get the correct O-ring (and backup washer, if used).

Yup, it is JD. I figured i would have to replace the whole thing. Sometimes it seems crazy to me to replace a whole part when all it needs is a o-ring!

Nobody said you couldn't replace the o-ring, but you're not going to replace it out of one of those cheap auto parts store o-ring assortments. Those are for... well... I don't know what they're for because I've never had one of them work for anything... Let's say they're for playing games of Tiny Ring Toss, or for your kids to use as pretend jewelry.

A farm and fleet type store might have the o-rings on the rack if they have a good assortment of hydraulic parts. Otherwise your best bet is a Deere dealer.

The entire coupler is only $20 or so.

If they leak when connected, a new oring will help. If the leak
is when disconnected, not much to do but replace.

I wonder can a guy buy a decent set of O-rings that will work
on equipment without spending a weeks wages ? I bought a
set of auto parts store orings and none would fit anything ever

I have a TV hardware nearby that stocks a huge selection of O-rings. Usually have what I need. I replaced all the rings in my Oliver hydraulic system, they had em.

I have an old set that will fit about anything but I looked up the price to replace em and about soiled myself should have bought another set when they were still 250$ Now its a 700$ bill

Check out the O-ring store in Lewiston, ID. You can can get a wide variety of materials and durometer ratings and they are super cheap. Basic premise is you buy at least a dollars worth of each size so you might get twelve at .09/each and only need one, but at those prices you can keep the spares or toss them. WAY cheaper than New Holland!! I bought several times from them and they have great service and reasonable prices.
