Cleaned and kitted..... still left side fuel adj screw does nothing...right side works great. Any ideas please?

Does nothing? As in what ? Does the engine stop when screwed in ? The setting is 1 1/2 - 2 turns out for most rpm. You got a tach hooked up or by ear ?

Recheck the idle pick up tubes. Under the venturi assembly, the small tubes that hang down in the well. Clean them with a tiny stiff wire, like a wire from a wire brush. Be sure the wells are clean.

There are also pressed in idle air bleed vents in the top of the venturi assembly, be sure they are both in there and clean. Some just had holes with no pressed in vents, just be sure both are the same.

Is this on a V8 or V6 engine? It likely has a dual plane intake. A vacuum leak on one side of the intake can make the carb difficult to adjust. Also be sure the engine is idled down to a slow idle when adjusting the idle mix. If you can see gas being drawn through the venturi, it is idling too fast to adjust.

Adding to your suggestions, carefully check the idle passages and ports in the cast iron throttle body for blockage.

There are 3 small holes/slotted openings in /just above the plane of the throttle shaft. All must be absolutely clear for the idle circuit to work.
