In the very early 1970s I saw Allison powered pulling tractors.

Also saw pulling tractors powered by air cooled Continental tank engines and just about anything else.

Of course, such things were much easier to find then and much less expensive.

At the time, of course, the heavy just out of the field farm tractors out pulled all of the hot rods.

I'm wondering, other than the color and the decals, is there anything that actually would legitimately make it an 'Oliver' (like tranny, differential, etc)?

Earliest versions had 1000 hp @ 2650 rpm. Later versions had 1250 hp @ 3000 rpm. That in stock condition. I doubt this one in stock condition.

Years ago, my Father in Law, who was big into speed, had 2 Allison V-12's still new in their original crates. I believe this was in the mid to late 50's. Would have loved to been able to inherit them..LOL!

Nice looking Allison powered Mod....It would be a good one for the MSTPA 5900 Mod class which is the group I pull my Hot Stock 1466 with..Right now the 5900 Mod points leader is powered by a single turbo DT360 IH on alky taken out to 407 cubes...See picture below....He's been beating the single engine blown Hemis and the twin blown Chevy Mods.

Hard to tell for sure in the photo, but do I see a Long Machine decal on the side panel? Back in the day, Brent's 686 with the alcohol DT360 did well if he went from A to B in a somewhat straight line.

I don't live close , but know them. They have an amazing assortment of Olivers and equipment, I'd bet there is something Oliver on it.

That is Brents engine from the 686...The owner of this mod (Plowboy Express) worked for Brent for several years and ended up with the engine..It will turn some serious rpms.

One engine makes serious power and one engine just makes noise--Can you guess which is which????---Tee
