Wagner Loader Bucket Pins

Cant seem to get the pins on this Wagner loader bucket to budge. I was looking to see if anybody on the inter webs has had similar troubles? Does the bucket need to be in a certain position to remove the pins? The pins have a tapper on the inside which tells me they should be driven from the inside out, but no luck.

Any ideas?

Try them from the other end. Sometimes they put a ledge or different size on them so they only go one way in and out. Make sure the tension is off the pins when trying to get them out.

No luck, Ive beat on both pins from both directions. I even hit it with some PB Blaster and let it work for a couple days and they still won't budge. Any chance they are threaded?

Lots of times there will be a step worn in the pin which will stop it from coming out. It can be a frustrating experience, and may involve needing to try various combinations of bucket tension and placement to get the step to slip through--for instance, changing the angle of the bucket, setting it on a block to change the amount of pressure on it, and lots and lots of heat, beat, and repeat. The pins aren't welded in, by chance? Some are tacked to keep them in place. A useful tool can be a drift pin welded to a piece of rebar or whatever at a right angle for a handle so you can get a good swing at them without worrying about smashing your or a helper's arm. Another possibility is tacking a short bar on the end of the pin that will come out first so you can try to rotate or wiggle it which can be helpful if there's a step worn in it.

Assuming you have the room, you can take a hydraulic jack with a double wrap of 3/8" chain crossed over in the back of the jack and wrapped around the loader. Home made porta power basically. Have to hold the jack up and level while you pump it tite. Once it is tite, then stand away from it and titen it up. If it doesn't pop out after that then get the torch out and heat the outer part. Of course when it pops loose the jack will fall but you could take some baler twine and tie it up after you have it snugged up to keep it from falling far. Keep away from it as it will jump when the pin goes or if it isn't lined up right. If the pins are real tite then it may have to sit like that for a day or two adding pumping it up a little more every so often while heating and cooling and spraying pb blaster.

I had to do that to get a blade mount off a mower. Took a couple days under pressure. I got a ladder and straddled it with a board and blocks to hold the jack up. Some kind of stand under it will help hold it as I was using a 12 ton jack which was heavy. Have to have the jack valve pointing to the side and downwards as it doesn't get fluid and won't pump.
