Just put a rebuilt 4L60E transmission in our 98 GMC 1500 4x4. Drove it 200 miles and threw a code of P0756. Shift solenoid stuck off. Checked all the connections for loose or broken wires, Pulled the pan and checked the A and B shift solenoid. They were replaced when rebuilt and click when 12 volts added to them. What else to check.

Contamination from a previous failure is what I've heard kill a lot of recently installed transmission. The amount of material found in the line's and cooler in the radiator is amazing. Return oil from these trans is pumped into the lube passages which lead to bearing and planatary failure. Sorry, my 97 K1500 went thru this twice untill the radiator and cooler were replaced and lines flushed.

This code sets with a mechanical or hydraulic problem. If you believe the solenoid is good (mechanically or physically) there might be a problem inside the valve body. Things like a tiny spec of metal in the valve body passages or hanging up a shift valve. Other than that, you might check with your builder, if it was a bench job, they might allow you to take them the truck, assuming it's only a valve body problem.

If you don't know Shift Sol B, is the solenoid on the right side, or passenger side.
