Update on John Deere 410 Injection Pump

From the previous posts...it would start and die after about 20 seconds. It would immediately restart, but again die quickly. I cracked the timing cover to let fuel escape and it would run.

I removed the injection pump and took it to a local diesel injection shop. The retaining ring for the governor was broken. When they got it apart they said there was quite a bit of wear inside it. They rebuilt it and I got it re-installed. It runs good. It was always an easy starting machine, but does seem to start easier now and seems to have a bit more power. Thanks for all the help in the previous posts helping to diagnose the problem.
