Shows the tractor in MUCH better detail. Seems there are 2 hooks on each end of the bucket facing opposite directions. In the Tractor Pic, it looks a lot like a single hook that can accept chain from either direction.

For lifting or pulling a chain. Can also be used to chain a larger object in the bucket. Works great for pulling logs. Stuck vehicle? A lot easier to see when you don't have to turn your head. That's just a few possible uses.
Yes, it is better to hook a chain to something more substantial if there will be extreme forces, but for general tugging, not a problem.

SV, click on the link I posted. It's the same pic, but MUCH higher detail. You can see in that link that it's 2 different hooks next to each other and facing opposite directions.
