On The Rocks

Last week's rock hauling turned out ok. I got to test out the rock crossing yesterday driving over it with the tractor and air seeder. It held the weight no problem for several crossings while I seeded the 40 acres. It definitely could use more finishing with gravel to smooth out the surface but as usual I ran out of time. Later.

What crop did you seed? I know Dad planted flax in early June several years.

I planted a grass/alfalfa mix along with some oats. Planning to have it as a hay field for future use. I can't be sure of getting across that creek every spring so I wanted to have it in grass. It would be great to get a rain on it now and it is trying this afternoon.

Yes, and we got 3 inches of rain since I planted the oats/forage mix so I got lucky.
