Recently purchased a D6 9U and am trying to find out what year it is? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Go over to the ACMOC site and post a serial number and someone will help or post it here

A serial number would help get to the year. D6 9U's were made during the 1950's. An oil clutch was standard in the later years. The different components will have a tag that may look like a model/serial number but not for the machine. Example: transmission will have a 5Mxxx tag.

get the serial number--on the left rear transmission case or on the left side of the engine block behind the pony clutch levers--then i can get you the year
