So far so good

I got the 1550 sprayed with primer yesterday. I used John Deere primer, Ive used it before in rattle cans with success, so I figured Id try to spray it. The finish is nice and smooth. The last time I tried to spray paint years ago, it had orange peel finish. I used a cheap HVLP gun from Harbor Freight this time. It didnt work so well in tight places and underneath, I may go back to the regular paint gun for the green on the tractor and then use the HVLP for the sheet metal.

If you do much painting I would invest in some mid grade HVLP guns. I used harbor freight / northern tool guns for several years. They were OK. Then I upgraded to the DeVilbiss guns and the finish that comes out of these is unbelievable compared to the guns I used to use.

I do not want to get in the habit of painting tractors!! I bought this rust bucket and have been fixing it up for tractor rides. I'm getting too old to have this much fun!!
