Got rid of the loose rust and paint caused by liquid death . Then tonight I dumped a bunch of muratic acid over the rim that really did a good job of cleaning . Then two coats of etching primer and 2 coats of black and two coats of ag yellow

Looks great. I always hate changing tires.....you just know the rims are gonna take two days to get fixed and painted

Nice job on cleaning up the rims, that is a project I know that all to well. I have been wanting to try acid to clean them but have not yet.

Man, a lot of work SV, and nicely done. After all of that, my experience with spray bombs (professional grade or otherwise) is that fading is inevitable if the tractor spends any time in the sun. Yellow fading is not so noticeable though. Automotive grade paint is a different species but costs a LOT more.

Where there has been calcium youll have a job to do . This project has been drawn out a month and a half now

Youll really like the muratic acid it just boils the rust off after that a wash of laquer thinner and paint

This will be covered by a tube then a tire so If it fades it wont matter. I dont have the capability to mix and spray paint . So far my rattle can loader looks as good as it did 2 years ago

Even mostly bald they still help traction quite a bit . This is the worst one of the two with the other one a fair bit better . When I get my other Sampson n Delia here then Ill have a spare Firestone
