Allis WD45 Hydraulic lever Creep

Hello, I have a WD45 that I use daily on the farm. They Hydraulic lever on the steering quadrant will creep up and soon I will hear the pump starting to run. I have replaced the friction block and the back compression spring on the lever with no change. I have reset the pump per the manual. seems to be an internal spring in the pump that i feel when i manually move the linkage at the pump when trying to reset the pump. I am a taller guy and am constantly getting on and off the tractor so a bungee was not practical at all. I have tried a hose clamp on the lower end of the quadrant and that works for about an hour. any other ideas out there?? I thought about taking the quadrant off and machining a small slot into the lower part of the quadrant that the friction block would sit in. Looking for advice on what has worked for others.

A simple solution might be to drill a 3/16 hole in the flat area to put a pin in. A thin cable or bead chain to keep from dropping the pin would keep it handy. a small C clamp placed on the quadrant would also work. Jim

Dad hung a hitch pin off of his handle when it was on auger work. I like the idea of the small pin in the quadrant. I wonder if there is a way to set the pump so its effectively turned off?
