Digging Up Some Gravel

Used the 2140 and 146 loader today to dig up some gravel and then haul it with the IHC R160 truck. The creek has dried up enough that I should be able to cross it on the rock crossing I started many years ago but it needed a few loads of gravel to cover the rocks so I could drive on them. 8 loads I think. Gravel is dry and easy to handle

I've Hauled sand and gravel out of our old abandon gravel pit. Comes in hand for road beds. I've also used the clean stuff for making small amount concrete . Best part, it's FREE. I can relate to what you are doing.

Nice old 'Binder. What is the marker light on the dash for?
That extra light on the dash is something a previous owner put on the truck and I have no idea what it was for. Its not wired to anything that I recall. . I guess they had intentions but never finished.

Thanks. If it was my truck I'd take it off, doesn't look good there really.

I've gotten so used to it that I don't even notice the light there except when I'm washing or waxing the truck. I could take it off but likely will never get around to it.

Maybe the light was there to tell you when you were "a shade low on hydraulic oil" or to remind you the glove box is open. lol Good video.

Another good video- keep them coming! And thank you. It must be handy to have gravel right there on your farm. In some areas near me there is gravel but right in my area is all shale underneath .

could be for night driving/operation--all of our fire engines have red light for night operation, even our GI deuce and half has red light backdrop for the guages

It is a safe bet that the light was an add-on "body up" indicator. They have been standard with new dump body installs for many years.

It would be the first I've ever seen. My Loadstar install is a lot newer than this one and it has no such indicator.
