LS Tractors

I've been looking for a compact tractor and a while back saw
a post for a consignment sale at an implement don't remember
where. Any how a picture posted showed the place sold
LS tractors. Just wondering if anyone here has knowledge of
them. What is the good bad and ugly about them. I've looked
at Kubota and Massey. I know there hard to beat. I need a
tractor to pull a blade a rototiller a bush hog and for
lite loader work. Any advise is appreciated.
Thank you for your help.

Either they are made by McCormick or they bought McCormick. I had a 120 hp. McCormick. It was a darn good tractor. We have a local dealer close enough that I can see him from my kitchen window. He also sells mahindra. He seems busy all the time. Has a lot of LS in stock and seems to be different ones all the time so I believe he is selling lots of them.

My attitude on all those foreign made/built companies is run forest run. Few parts fewer dealers for support and pain to deal with. I guess I just don't fit the can't we all just get a long crowd. I do realize all the tractors under about 100 HP have been made/built off shore for more than a score.

The difference now vs then is the Internet. Parts are no longer an issue because you can always find someone online that will ship you the parts you need.

If an established servicing dealer is handling them, though, it might be worth a look. Many of these dealers are displaced big brand dealers that got pushed out by some mega-dealership taking over their territory. Some guy in a portable office trailer on an otherwise vacant lot on the edge of town, on the other hand, you probably want to shy away from as he is a fly-by-night and will be gone in short order.

LS has been making different tractors for 35 years. Currently making New Holland and CaseIH. I don't know to how many HP. I am waiting right now for a LS MT342 HC. The LS brand is now like Kabota tractors used to be. Everybody was afraid of them.
I looked at Kioti too, but the cab tractor wouldn't fit in my garage door.

I bought a 68hp model LS 4 years ago. Been a good machine. At about 2 years old, The throttle pedal started acting strange with a random error code. I took a video and my dealer sent me a new one. Took about 5 days to get it. Only other problem was a blown hydraulic hose. I dont know how that happened. Nothing appeared to have touched it. I spliced it back together and my Dealer sent me a new one. Ive been very happy and saved enough to buy several implements vs a Kubota. Green dealer here is strictly AG, and its like they dont even want your business.

Marketing deal - Landini / McCormick small tractors in North America are LS. In Europe still get proper models we used to get here.

In my neck of the woods , south Alabama, the LS tractors are being worked hard everyday in the fields, lots of farmers have bought them and seem to have positive remarks about them, the city nearest me has several that they use to keep right of way and city parks cut with . I wouldnt be scared to own one......

In 2016 I bought a new little Branson 2400 for $12,400 with loader to do little chores around the farm. Had non synchro 6 speed, tranny PTO, joystick loader, Cummins licensed engine, no tilt wheel and hard for a 240# 6'5 guy to enter and leave. In January I decided that I made a mistake and and wanted a hydro after all. Also wanted the other above mentioned problems solved.

In short, I accidentally wound up with an LS dealer buying my trade ins, and realizing that I had an opportunity for a lookie see at his offerings in that HP range I took advantage of it. Turns out the new MT2-25s with loader, solved ALL of my wants on my wish list with free delivery some 200 miles for $15,500. Took my Branson and a Ford 2000 in trade and I was out $6k cash. Not bad. The sucker is 25 hp and has a tilt wheel so you can get in and out, expanded operators station, Ind. PTO., 3 range Hydro, Yanmar engine, 6 year warranty. The workmanship is superb and the engineering is right up there with the best of them. Really impressed.

The only thing I have against compact tractors, and it seems to be across the board, on the rear, they put a 2450# rated pair R4s of 6 ply, tires on 16.5 rims which don't have a grove to hold the tire on if it goes flat [like found on most wheels and all for autos and trucks (16.5 excepted)] so you have to keep the pressure high so the tire doesn't spin on the wheel nor loose air and fall off (BTDT)...basically having a rolling rock, on a tractor that weighs...the whole thing including weight on the front axle, 1850#. Makes no sense. You just cannot get a seat to absorb all the punishment that those suckers can deal out.

5000 series John Deere is built in Georgia . Not all the components are USA sourced but they are still made in John Deere factories and what isnt made up of parts from other countries??

I bought a 47 HP Long Land-Trac 20 years ago. Local dealer was a friend, tractor made in N Korea. I'll bet the same factory that builds LS now. Just be aware of compact tractors, they are not very rugged. When I try to use all 47 hp, I start breaking things. But, it is still a handy tractor. I bought an old Allis to do my heavy lifting, tilling and running a heavy duty mower.

I have an LS g3033 thatI bought new in 2012. Other than oil changes and grease, Which are easy to find, I have never needed any parts, and this tractor gets used nearly every day, February thru October.

if the day comes when I need to replace my other tractor, a JD 950, I will most certainly look at LS, and probably Kioti.
These tractors are used in a commercial vineyard, and are asked to do many different jobs.

I think you mean S. Korea.

When I bought my small Mahindra I also looked at the LS afterwards (the dealer didn't have the size I wanted at the time) and their small tractor was identical to my Mahindra. The tractor(s) were mfg. by TYM, mine had the engine by Daedong (Kioti in the U.S.). Not sure what was in the LS.
