Graveled My Driveway

Long overdue for some gravel, my driveway got it today. Did not take long to do a half mile and did a nice smooth job. Shot some video of it working. I can remember my dad hauling gravel for the driveway with the Cockshutt 50 and the rock picker. Loaded by hand with shovels.

Thats neat. I like that truck/trailer, we dont see it down here. Not many driveways like that here either. Most of our gravel is hauled in standard dump trucks or dump trailers.
 
That was pretty cool. Never seen that done that way before. I need some stone in my own circle driveway but will probably have to buy a load and spread it myself. Fortunately its not as big as yours.
 
I agree that guy is good,i hauled gravel for 3 years also, but our traps, in the states, open length ways, the opposite of his, just use the speed, to control how wide you want the swath to be,but it always disturbed me, when i would leave it, it was smooth, and then along come the county blade, a hour later, and try to make it better,it cant be done!
 
These guys have been in the gravel business a long time and do a good job. They have end dump trailers as well but for this type work the bottom dump trailers lay a nice carpet of gravel.
