Case 900 diesel bleeding

So I haven't had the 900 out in a while and I think air has got into the fuel system, I did get her started although the engine was surging a lot then after a few minutes running she slowly died and stopped. She has a Bosch PES external drive pump with attached transfer pump but no hand primer. I got diesel to stage 1 and 2 filters but not to stage 3. Any thoughts on how best to get fuel through the system again?

I've never been around a 900 Case, so this is a crap shoot. Open the bleeder screw on filter #3, take the fuel cap off and stuff a rag in the opening along with the air nozzle from your air compressor and blow some air into the tank, maybe the extra pressure will push the fuel thru the filter.

This is how I do it. Helps if the tank is full. If it will start it will bleed on its own once the other filters are bled.

I take an air gun and a rag and pressurize the tank a little with the bleed plug removed when fuel comes out put the plug in and done.

I have a hand primer on my tractor, and have been able to make it start by pumping the primer, but its slow going. If I run one out of fuel now, I find it easiest t just to open the bleeder, pump till I see some fuel come out. Then close the bleeder, and tow the tractor with another tractor, while it is in hi gear. Usually it will cough and start, and stall and start a few times, but eventually start and run fine. Much easier on the starter too, but it requires two people.
