Diesel smell remover

I work around a lot of
diesel equip.and have an
occasional spill or spray
on myself what is a good
scent remover?

Skunk odder won't remove it, but it will cover it up.

I like the smell of something's close to my face but not skunk.lol

Baking soda and a bit of water , rub it over the hands or where you got splashed and then shower.

Time, and lots of soap.

Dawn dish soap with baking soda has worked for me.
Lots of hand lather, rinse and repeat,
then a dab of gold bond cream helps.

I'm so used to it, I don't even notice any smell.

Gasoline- lots and lots of gasoline...

Diesel smell remove? A walk through pig poo.
Skunk would work better.
Many trips through laundry. Then hang outside in sun until smell is gone.

Any cleaner with D-limonene in it. It is a citrus based solvent.

Then a match, smell will gone permently.

Try Fast Orange, When I worked at the phone company a lot of time just before lunch I would get in a pedistal full of mice, that cut the urine smell right off.

I just bought this it works great doubled the dose.Used it on my diesel fuel soaked sweatshirt.

I have had an allergy issue for few years and find baking soda to work the best .

Yup, Fast Orange is just one of many cleaners based on D-Limonene

Ammonia in the wash will remove it from your clothing. Works great.

I asked this question a back in January when I got my Ford diesel. Either here or the tool forum.

A bunch of replies. Here is what I found.

Was using fast orange with pumice and dawn dish soap afterwards that didn't get rid of the smell. The fast orange hand soap bars worked better for some reason and had to get them at a auto parts store as no one else carried them. Use hot water as hot as you can stand.

Then follow up with a dab of shaving gel which gets rid of anything else.

Also have a shaker can of boraxo that I use at home along with the dawn dish detergent to get rid of the grease and the liquid fast orange before going to the hand bars.

When I got my injectors rebuilt, the guys at the diesel shop said they use the same Zep brand (I think) solvent that they get for about 65 bux for 5 gallons on their hands. Not sure what it is but they say it also works better than other solvents for getting old paint, etc. off of injectors and pumps.

For clothes (and hands) use the hottest water possible and the softest water possible. Forget the recommendations about cold water. Our washer has a sanitary steam setting that I use on all work clothes now (when my wife isn't looking cause she believes in cold water). Back in my oilfield drilling rig days I went to the laundrymat and put a half cup of solvent in with the coveralls as they always had oil, diesel, and grease on them but probably not a good idea to use in the same washer your wife washes here underwear in. That made my coveralls clean but then they smelled like solvent which is sweeter than diesel. Use your regular washer soap and if there is a soil setting then set it to max. Since they are work clothes that don't matter if they fade, I add a cup of clorox bleach to the wash water. Also add some lemni-shine to the water to soften it up further. It is sold by the dishwasher detergent as an additive to soften the water. Try not to wash diesel clothes with other clothes.

I haven't tried the purple/green power stuff either on the hands or clothes but I suppose if I had a serious diesel spill on my clothes then I would soak them in a bucket for a day with that stuff first in hottest water available.
