Not sure if it's the earliest we've planted corn....but its gotta be the coldest! 28F this morning. Conditions were good, so turn up the heater and let her roll!

All my crops are no tilled....except for a few acres we sacrifice in the fall for our antique plow day. Been no til for about 25 years.

Broadcast about 300, another 150 through the planter and side dress N as 28 percent. Analysis is dependant on soil test and crop grown. Beans are all broadcast, use the same planter but add splitter rows. Wheat is custom no till in, fall broadcast with split N in the spring

Good job. Nice straight rows. What's to keep the stubble from piling up in front the the planter? Stan

I started planting again yesterday and found out my a/c don't work. Supposed to be 80 Tuesday so I better charge it or sweat all day. My corn planted on the 5th looks really good especially since it had almost 2 inches of snow on it last week.

No till is more fun if you dont have a hay rotation. Only one or two guys going with corn planters here, but they always start early, and some times plant twice. Plenty of small spring grain has gone in already. Most will get cut as forage

As sv said, lots of weight on the openers, HD springs on the units, aggressive no til counter.

???? No till works BEST with hay in rotation... no sod lumps to break down, no rocks to pick after seeding, better stands. Been doing it for 30 plus years.

Yes, I could never make it work with solid manure and a hay crop. Always had to plow the manure in, so we had kind of a mixed tillage system back then.
