Ford 9N Serial Number

My dad picked up a tractor today and we are trying to figure out the year of it. Serial number on engine block says 9NI27686

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you go to the classic side of this then under research and info then to ford and then 9N do the math to figure out where that number fits in. Might be a 9N or a 2N. If the radius rods are I-beam type might be a 9N if tube then might be a 2N. I'll tell you how to find the info but I'll not do it for you that way you learn how to fish

Thanks. Weve been doing plenty of digging and according to the serial number sheet on the website, looks like its a 1943-9N

That serial # might be 9N127686. I have heard that Ford may have used an I for a 1. Serial number listing is in the left column under serial numbers.

That could be. I guess I would be confused as to why in the serial numbers tab it has serial numbers listed for the 9N for 1943 but when I read other things, like you had mentioned it shows they stopped making them in 42.
