My dad gave me this planter a couple years ago. Gonna try to plant 20 rows,50' long with it. Had to make a plate to fit indian corn.

Why are you making a hill to plant the corn in rather than plant the corn in the ground and then hill it up as it grows? That way you could lay a row off with a single shovel plow, drop the grains by hand or use something like a garden way planter and then cover it.

Here's my planting machine, has about 6 plates, works surprisingly good as long as the dirt doesn't have a lot of lumps.

Garden is on a slight slope, we didn't do hills for a couple years and a heavy rain would wash out the rows of seeds. Wish I had run out in the pouring rain this morning and taken a picture, it would be easy to see why.

Grandpa get some glass gem corn available on the net and seed stores, kernels are pastel colors very nice for decorative corn.

That looks like nothing I have seen. Some more pics would be appreciated. On my small scale garden I drag a 1/2 inch piece of emt pipe down the row and drop the seeds down the pipe. It saves me from bending over.
