Whats it worth?

I dont need this little backhoe as Ive already got a Terramite, but the company I work for is fixing to bid this small backhoe off in the next 2 weeks, its a Dig-It brand , has a Kohler engine in it just like my Terramite. Its going to need a rear tire, thinking about bidding on it just to get it and flip it. Dont think theres too much interest in it so may not bid too much for it.

Well, if thats your ultimate goal, I guess youre in luck! The front tires are already in the air and it has a bad rear tire. Come at it from the side with the good rear tire and it should flip right over.

If it was near me in Michigan...$500 max not running. If it ran and the hoe works, $1000. At that price the tire could be fixed and the hoses that will blow replaced, and still be less than the price of a used 3 pt hoe (about $3500 it seems).

Good luck with that. NOTHING is going cheap at auction this spring. All the auction addicts have been cooped up for a year, and are just jonesing to buy something, ANYTHING, at ANY price, and apparently they have money burning holes in their pockets.

It does not seem like there's much interest in these online auctions, until the last hour. That's when they usually blow up and leave you scratching your head at what kind of lunatic would pay THAT much for THAT piece of junk!

Location? I would also be interested if you wanted to move it as it sits. I am a little mechanically inclined and have a pair of tires from my mini pulling days that would fit.

See, this is why you should NEVER post about an upcoming auction tractor youre interested in until the auction is over and its safely parked in your garage.

Now all your YT buddies want to bid against you!

Your Pulling days tires would not even support the weight of that little INGOT , and i would bet that it has tires of at least and 8 ply if not a 10 ply .

Well for a fair idea of what a terramate sells for and what they bring at auction in almost dead condition i really don't think you would get it bought for less then 2500 in todays market . BUT even a blind hog finds and Acorn once in a while.

Bids have to be submitted by end of April and will be opened the very next morning, engine will turn over, carb will need cleaning, if I happen to be high bidder it will be for trade or sell, YTers will get first opportunity before it goes on Craigslist or FB. It will be cheap !

Ive been offered $8000 for my Terramite and turned it down, it cant be replaced for that ! Mine had about 800 hours on it and no loose play anywhere on it. There was a Terramite for sale about 30 miles from me with a new Predator engine in it for I believe $6500 a few days back and I think somebody has snatched it up already. High demand for them

Git er running and spiffed up then maybe we can hold an auction right here on YT. Set a close date and specific time, as is, where is, etc. and let people bid away. I'm not interested in buying but could be an auctioneer.

31-15.5x15 Firestone 8 ply. I looked at 2 Terramites and they both had same tires. I would take aa chance on using them.

I have a Dig-It unit that looks like that. Mine is a model 198-T and it has the 2 cylinder Kohler 18 Hp air cooled, opposed twin. This was originally designed and built as a Power King tractor company unit. A lot of Power king parts fit. They sold it to another company who went belly up and then it was briefly owned by the Pug Power Company and then Power King supposedly bought the parts inventory and maybe the tooling but did not produce any more units. I have not had any problems getting parts for it from a place I think is Mission Industries and the few hydraulic hoses or cylinder rebuilds I have needed the local hydraulic shop has everything needed. I have had very little problems with mine and I really like it. I don't use it very much anymore but it is a wonderful tool for moving stuff around the yard and into the shop. I bought mine used 10 years ago and it had 1040 hrs on the meter. I paid $5,000 for mine and it saved me enough when digging foundations and septic tanks and lines on our house when we were remodeling on that it paid for itself there in a couple of weeks.
