If it's the same as a dc one from an M fits I think. There is also
an Allis, I believe a WD45. One will be upright the other points
to the rear.
 
Right angle is a delco, sold by IH dealers in the mid-50's to replace mags that went bad. Replacement parts readily available through any decent old IH dealership. If I remember correctly, the firing order of the delco I opposite of the genuine IH distributor, one is clockwise and the other is counterclockwise, but don't quote me. I've done both as a direct bolt on to an SC & a DC, but it's been a while ago. Both will probably work on an LA, but I've never done one.
 
My dad converted a D, an L and LA back in the 50s. The D was simplest of course, just change to late style D gov housing and add a 36 chevy truck generator and regular to the left side of engine.

Photo is of L Case with right angle delco battery distributor conversion. My dad just had a few metal plates torched out and then welded them onto the 4 bolt mag base and walla, flange mount conversion complete!
