Found a cub cadet with a good Onan in it. Whole tractor $150, drove it on the trailer. Got case motor out, cub cadet motor out..... Gotta go to Northern Tool this afternoon to get a different love joy connector. Shaft on old engine is 1-1/8 new one is 1 inch. Looks like a 100 mile round trip after church. Hope to have it running by dark. Had to fab up a different plate to connect hydraulic pump.

When the lovejoy fails use a double roller chain coupling next. The pulsing of a piston engine is very hard on the rubber drivers. Jim
 
Case has used the Love Joy from day one,, they last thousands of hours,, far longer than a dry chain would last as no one would bother to pull a engine to lube the chain so it would last,, also Far more quite than chain
 
there are however different inserts of different material available for Lovejoy couplings, some of which are much more tolerant of the pulsation or hammering of a reciprocating engine.
